Penderosa Rescue & Sanctuary is dedicated in providing a nurturing and healing environment for abused, neglected and unwanted horses of all breeds. Our goal is to provide them with a safe haven for time to heal and to regain a trusting relationship; while being provided with rehabilitative and compassionate care until such time a loving permanent home becomes available. Penderosa Rescue & Sanctuary will provide a life long sanctuary to those equines unable to find permanent homes, where they can live out the remainder of their lives with dignity and peace at a loving and caring facility.

The Stables at Poplar Grove is home to a variety of over 70 animals, reflective of 19th-century farming, including sheep, goats, pigs, hens, roosters, ducks, horses, and ponies. Centered around education, we provide sanctuary for rescued, donated, abandoned, and neglected equine and farm animals. The Stables was established to create a platform for our community, providing an opportunity for the public to view and interact with the animals typical of a working farm.
The mission of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is to conserve and protect all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach. We accomplish this through the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured sea turtles; public education regarding the plight of sea turtles and the threat of their extinction; and learning opportunities for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and veterinary medicine from around the world. A nonprofit organization, we view our work as a privilege and are honored to work with these magnificent creatures.
